Tis, its just so damn time consuming and pointless.

I supose it will look good in the end

I learned, that lightning is one of the most important things in the visual design of your map. Not only can you break long walls with spotlights, but you can also affect the gameplay with lightning. Think of a small corner which isn't well lit. A spy/scout could hide there and backcap if he has the chance.

Yes, lightning is hard to build and time consuming, but it is so damn important...

Indeed, imagine totally random deaths you cannot prevent. ZAP! and you're toast. Perhaps this will be introduced in the next update..?
BLU Lightning Machine! Oh boy, just imagine that. :P </idea day, sorry about that.>

In all seriousness though, lighting is important. Play around with the light sources if you can.
I say this, be ye redy with good hert
To al my wil, and that I frely may
As me best pleaseth do you laughe or smert,
And never ye to murmur, night or day;
And eek whan I say yea, ye say not nay,
Neyther by word, nor frownyng countenaunce?
Swer this, and here I swer our alliaunce.
