Update steam page server listing and website listing

Hi guys,

So as we know, the old payload server is now arena.  I'm guessing the new server is payload and arena usually has fewer people so will be able to take the load without lagging.

Its a nice thing to have anyway as it makes me a better combat medic
Although I have noticed when I go medic, we end up with like 4 medics or so in the next round or two as with one medic on one team, the other team doesn't last long if I manage to survive

Anyway, just a quick reminder/suggestion to update the Steam listing with full list of servers and what they are hosting and on here too.

The site information was changed this morning at 8 am GMT (by a very lazy bear who is supposed to be on a break).
Steam group page will be updated later today.

The old Payload server is actually going down. We're moving completely on these two new, powerful servers. Sorry, Arena fans.

BTW I managed to get a game server for TF2 as part of a new companies test.

Address is 217.78.4.88:27017

Its using generic config (I changed a few things but don't know all the config variables so I just googled for something useful).

Its running default maps for the servers there because I couldn't have been arsed changing them

I got it to help out a site that was starting to die and was hoping to revive the community and get people playing TF2 together but site died and nobody really showed any interest in it.

Yeah that sounds like a good plan keeping in mind that its only a temp server so if it gets popular, we may have a problem since I don't have the funds to keep it going when the testing is over for the gaming servers.

It is hosted in Dublin Ireland so should be fine for UK players.  I get a sub 10ms ping since its hosted down the road from me

I'll look into converting it tomorrow, I'll need to upload KOTH maps I imagine and change server config to a KOTH one probably.  Don't know if there is specific things for KOTH in config.

So I changed the server to be KOTH.  So em play on it.

Played on the koth server today, and it was great fun.

Instant respawn makes if fairer with smaller numbers so even with a few people its a lot of fun.

Great game going on at the moment, very fair teams going down to wire each time.

It took me until I got killed by a flare and the killcam shot was of a Spy to notice it was instant respawn.

lol yeah well I've played on other KOTH servers and it seems rounds don't last long if you have respawn times.

One side just captures and the other can't do much as they die and have to wait for respawn before they can even challenge.

So I think instant respawn is fairest as if the winning team is better then they'll be able to hold them back anyway.

Yeah TBH I'm afraid to tinker with it now as I'll just ruin it

It has a very good balance at the moment.

I was thinking of putting in the wait for players thing but I'm not so sure because there is a built in time before you can capture the point anyway which is enough time for people to get in game.

Shout if you guys want a waiting for players time.

I usually dont like no respawn but I didnt have any problems with it. It works especially great when only a few players are on.

Yeah

When I was asking for votes, I more meant the time before round starts when waiting for everyone to load the level

You know where it goes 15 seconds waiting for players and then everything resets when everyone is there (on some of the servers here it allows friendly fire in that time).

Try to play more on the new Payload server. Even though the old server shows a "we've moved" message now, the players might not join the new server unless there are people playing on it.

Also, please report any lag issues if possible. I'll try to do some stuff related to the servers if I have time - can't expect a lot though, I'm quite busy and still officially on a break.

(oh, great job with the KotH server brim4brim. Haven't had a chance to take a look at it myself though. Give me a shout if you need banlists or admin configuration files, by the way.)
