i refuse to pay for something that is more like an add on that a new game its not even gonna be a good sequal because its hardly got anything and they havent even done the things they said they would to l4d so why is it they would do much of anything to the new one

Meh. I've paid for worse add-on-esque games before now and I hardly get income at all. It's got new things to look forward to etc., nothing too much to complain about if the inspiration for other projects isn't as abundant as the ideas they have for L4D 2. At least they're making something rather than nothing. It's their decision what to work on next, they can do whatever the hell they want. If it's expensive, I'll be pissed like the rest of you, otherwise you're kicking up fuss over something as if they have to make these games for you. I dare you to do better. The fact it's on pre-pre-order now for like $50 isn't surprising considering it's so massively early on, but if they charge the same they did for L4D when it first came out then they're just going to have ridiculously low sales and the price will plummet.

Valve's said they won't ditch L4D support. They also said that they haven't revealed much about L4D2. With that in mind, I will wait until you can prepurchase the game on Steam before I make any decisions.

I would not count on those words... I really wouldn't. They are forced to move their attention towards the new game, no matter do people play it or not.

They have two teams atm, I think. One L4D team and one L4D2 team.

Even so, if they DO ditch L4D support once L4D2's been out for a while, many Valve fans will do what they are already doing; Boycotting L4D2. They've made a promise and if they fail to keep it, I assume thousands of fans would rage.

of course people will rage, they ddnt do all the things they promised for a start so why does that mean their gonna do anything better with the new version ? it seems like somethign to divert attention from what really matters, i think they thought they would increase sales by making a new version but failing that they ddnt do what they promised with the first so why do they think people are going to buy the new one for the same things to happen again not to mention as i said its more like an add on than a new game of its own least with tf2 they have lots of new maps chars weapons so forth they could afford to make a tf3 now they have almost done everything they can with tf2 so i  think people would bring forth happyness at a tf3 see the difference ?

L4D2 seems like a new game in the perspectiv of what other companies do, but is also kinda like hl2 and hl2ep1. But since valve have done very much with tf2. The l4d players might feel that they would get all that. But I just read that SDK is comming soon(on moddb). And yes it is complicated, and I will most likley dont buy it since I am bored with l4d, it isnt really diffrent each time you play since the units are so repedativ.

No, I don't. Why do you assume that the L4D team will do the same thing the TF2 team are doing? I don't know if you've heard, but Gabe Newell stated he DIDN'T want a new game so soon, because it would be a little against what people would expect of Valve. But the developers, when they had L4D done, already had so much more they wanted to do, so it was decided they were going to make a L4D2.

They've also already said that the changes there are to the game itself in L4D2 from L4D are TECHNICALLY different, so much that they CAN'T fit the additions onto L4D and use that as a core. This has already been stated by Gabe and other people from within Valve. Why do you boycott a game that's not even OUT yet? It's not even close to being logical. As I've stated, I'm going to wait until they've revealed more (Because I actually trust Valve rather than just tossing them out on the street as soon as they do something unexpected) before deciding what to do.

In my opinion, you boycotters are being too quick and are assuming too much.

Valve cant just live on fans >.> I know it is to soon and too similar but wait and see, maybe it will be great. And it is also a big thing for the 360 fans I guess.
