Do all the clients need to use the same program?

Yus, as far as I know.
I prefer ventrilo due to aesthetics and simplicity, I don't know whether the quality is any different.

I only used Teamspeak yet so I cant say much about everything else
I would use any programm as long as we get a server which wont be a problem with teamspeak

Ventrillo is imo to much of a chaos + it has a lot of problems with audio codec rights and stuff, teamspeak is clean and simple but has major lag. I prefer mumble: Clean nice program, and least lagg of them all . + its open source.

If we play arena, that won't be a problem. But I'm starting to reconsider that decision because of the amount of players we got.

I'm going to spectate the whole round, but I will join and play if needed.

My advise:

Don't play arena, just play cp_badlands / cp_granary. That way you can practice you teamwork and stuff. In arena, there isn't really much teamwork involved. Basicly, competitive play is all about teamplay, individual skill really isn't that much important. Ofcourse you need to aim, but attacking together is much more important .

For the Saturday event we will be using the in-game VOIP. Otherwise we would need 2 server, one for each team. Also, if we scramble the teams/change the map everyone would need to change to the correct server for their team.

For any future matches, a program similar to Ventrilo will be used.

Foozy, you just make 2 channels on 1 mumble / vent / TS server .

killzone is absolutely right
just create 2 channels on 1 server
and just double click on the channel you belong to and finished^^
its more easy than many think
