I love funk and rock and tended to dislike techno and simular music. However I worked with a guy who was a techno DJ. We both ended up convincing each other that the other persons music tastes didn't suck.

If you look hard enough in any genre you will most proably find something you like. There are some funk songs which I think are complete toss.
