You mean you never ever heard of the rumours that DNF changed hands in all this? Gearbox has said that while the game was undoubtably -not finished-, there was already a lot of content, too, in case that isn't covered in the blog you linked.

Even though I knew that DNF wasn't completely buried, I couldn't be bothered to keep track of what Gearbox is doing with the game. I've better things to do.
