As many of you may know, the actitvity on the custom map server hasn't really been on topp.

And this graph of players having been on the server for the last month really says something.
And I dont think that the admins would mind if we started a thread here giving suggestion for what would draw you towards the server and make the server get used more.

To start it off, here is my suggestions.

I think that the custom server could be used as a resource for the players.
Example of this would be mappers. I have noticed that there is quite a few people that map for tf2, and as a mapper I know that getting it tested helps alot. And when its done/ in beta, then people could enjoy playing the map.
The map could be on the server all the time, meaning it would have players actually playing it, rather than just existing.

Well one of my best friends Andy has designed a very good (imo anyway) tf2 CP map called Gydan which you may or may not be aware of. So talking of maps to put on I and him may be able to populate that map a couple times as we have friends who like to play it.
However more on topic to what Demon_Hunter said about activity and the custom server, for my old clans, I would organise with a couple other members, times on some days to just go into the server and mess around and try to get it populated. Although this applies to both servers I am a HUGE fan of custom maps and would happily take some to hang around and try and populate it if some other guys are down for doing so?

I love the custom map server but nobody else is ever on it

Whenever I'm on people are on the pop map server.

So yeah just invite me anytime you want to play custom maps

Awesome i'll definately do that. I added you on steam not sure if you accepted yet though
As for anyone else, if you wanna do some customs, just add me if you haven't already and ask whens a good time

The thing is, every time we're on someone goes "Oh this map is s**t, ewwww. I'm off."

Rinse and repeat for every player on different maps. There's a vote running, but nobody's voting. If you want people on the custom you've got to put some effort in yourselves, or else I'll be a communist and decide everything (which I pretty much have so far regarding the custom maps).

Indeed I agree,
I will try my best to put some time aside to populate the server although I do still have a number of days where I am unavailable.
Something that I think is under-used though is the steam group chat. If one of you has free time for the custom, create a group chat, invite people, and organise for going into the custom. Maybe could switch between custom and regular on different days whatever.
Anyway I know i'm just talking about it now but hopefully tonight for a little while I can hang about in the custom.
