Gaming night suggestions
« on: 12 January 2010, 00:15:10 »
Since it was suggested and it can't hurt nor is a bad idea...

Post gaming night activity and map suggestions here. Elaborate a bit if it's unclear.

I'll start off with 3-4 heavies vs. rest scouts on a payload map. Heavies attacking. This is provided we get enough people sometime.

Based on Zombie Fortress, a small team (2-4) vs the rest who only uses melee. It worked a wee bit last gaming night, but not sure were it wuld work the best: CP, attack/defend or payload.

Brainstorm part 1 -

Royal Rumble - no respawn times, play till your dominated then once dominated you switch to the other team, play till all members are on the same team
Potential for long playtime - Can span multiple maps.

Dodgeball. Been playing it alot recently and it's good fun and can be played with a small or large number of players. May be a bit trickyto get it going though

Dodge ball would be fun but hard to get going if I remember.  I suggested it before but I think its a proprietary plugin and the guy who owns it decides who gets it and sets up the server for it as its quite the hack I imagine.

I think we could probably get a version going using the maps and one team pyros and one team demos who can only use pipes.  Would need ammo boxes for demos though.

That would be more like real dodgeball I think :D

The medieval thing done right. Like Red and BLU standing in 2 lines facing eachother and someone says like "Charge!" or whatever and you know, everyone starts decapitating eachother
Some people say less is more, but I say less is less, more is more and ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Sounds like it would last 30 seconds, but i good starting point.

Nuh-uh. Just put in one of those global resupply plugins.

What I'd like to see? Not sure. Maybe a night with surf maps, cause that's the only real TF2 related thing I'm actually good at as of right now.
EDIT: More frequent gaming nights. :D

When I'm bored I fire up my own server. FFA Randomizer, friendly fire on. Turns out, you get new stuff when you get killed by your own team, so it works awesome.
Just need a map that spawns everyone in a FFA config so you can't spawnkill your own team, or obedient players who won't kill their own team near the vicinity of the spawn area.

An idea I had in the past but never really tired was for whoever is looking for new maps for the server or possibly map ideas for fellow mappers, Just get a bunch of custom maps that are new or of unusual design and play a whole bunch of them with the clan asa  game night. Some of the mas will be total crap we all know this but it can be a good laugh and a decent evaluation method for having more maps at the same time.
It's a possibility. The other idea I had could be to play games (and I forget the name of this game) where each team has 9 players 1 of each class on a 2 way CP map. I always loved Warpath_2 for that.
