I can safely say that most if not all of you have at least some issue with NDH. The site, the server, and so on. Everything from a fundamental problem to a small annoyance, though most of the time one's never bothered to make a thread about a minor issue, since it would likely come across as nitpicking. The difference is that we care, and we're always looking to improve the experience.

So here it is, a collection survey thread for all of your problems, ideas and other comments about NDH.
I would really appreciate if you took your time to fill it in. Answer carefully and be honest about it. If you feel like it, you could PM me your answers. The code is at the bottom for you to copy and paste.

If you have multiple answers, fill them in in order of importance where applicable.

To clarify, "community" in the questions below refers to the members, the gaming nights, how the clan is administrated, etc..

   • How should we improve it? - Use the thing that was in the thread that was made earlier, and do some stuff to it, so it is easy to use like that shoutbox.

   • What should be improved on the servers? - Remove pl_hoodoo from maplist

   • How should we improve it? - remove pl_hoodoo

   • Do you have any other ideas? - Maybe add a few fun plugins that can be used when we are a bit bored.

I would like to see an up to date match result system.  Want to know if da boys in the competetive team are kicking arse or not

Just have someone who participated in the match(or someone who will always be up to do it) post them. They was it is posted is good enough, short and very clear.

Allow sprays. I understand that you want to avoid seeing all the nasty ones, but that almost never happens.

Allow sprays on the server.

Add some custom maps to the server list. Especially the payload server doesn't have that much maps, and there are some real good ones made by the community.

Plan ahead what we are gonna do on the gaming nights. Ask the forum's for any idea's, Then post them when in the gaming night announcement. People can then decide if they want to participate in thing like medivail fortress etc.

A note to the competetive team, try and get the subs into the training as well. Maybe once every two weeks/month? It's no good if someone suddenly get's to play in an ETFL match while completly out of shape xD

Custom payload maps to mix up the payload server.

A lot of the community ones are better than some of the stock ones.  Maybe add one or two ctf ones too an use voting for maps to let people choose if they want to play ctf maps.

Add some custom maps to the server list. Especially the payload server doesn't have that much maps, and there are some real good ones made by the community.

Custom payload maps to mix up the payload server. 

This might be a possibility soon if Tom is able to get his hands on a download server.

Uhm, I don't really have any problems with the site, it does it's job very well and I don't feel like there are any features missing, no complaints here.

Maybe, it could be cleaned up a bit, there are a lot of things here that I don't use like my user panel, but then I can see that other users might need them, so maybe a customizable interface? Quite a tall order but just a suggestion.

No problems on the servers either apart from lag every now and then. Sometimes I do think the server should be 14 man but that's just my personal preference. I often leave once it's full.

   • What should be improved on the servers? - Remove pl_hoodoo from the pl server, replace it with plr_pipeline.

   • How should we improve it? - Create a forum topic where we discuss what we should do at the GN's

   • How should we improve it? -  expand to fill any required features that come up with possible feedback changes

   • What should be improved on the servers?  - A bit of map changes, dustbowl and pipeline mayby

   • How should we improve it? -  N/A

   • Do you have any other ideas? -  not at this moment - may change with possible server space


   • What should be improved in the community? -  More active site members and recruting

   • How should we improve it? -  Get the current members in gear, have talks with false heros

   • Do you have any other ideas? -  Nopt at thsi moment


   • Other comments:  - I see comments and ideas like frush's - more orgonised gaming nights.
If people have ideas, they ycould always submit them - but i think there is a lack of ideas.

   • What should be improved on the site? - More notice that we are not, in fact, primarily a competitive clan.

   • How should we improve it? - A large sign on the top of the news posts, possibly beside the joining information link, reading "For the last (insert curse of your choice) time, NDH is not primarily a competitive clan."

   • Do you have any other ideas? - Perhaps make the Join link a bit larger so that it stands out more while you're at it.  Either that or a different colour might help.


   • What should be improved on the servers? - The VoteScramble option in the Admin plugin.

   • How should we improve it? - Find a fixed version, rather than replacing it with "Scrambled Eggs".

   • Do you have any other ideas? - If there's a way to have it on there without ruining everything else, the Prophunt mod might be useful for the gaming nights.


   • What should be improved in the community? - A few more people encouraged to link their profiles to their Steam IDs would help identifying them.

   • How should we improve it? - Speak softly, and carry a big stick.

   • Do you have any other ideas? - Until the download server is available, announce all custom maps for gaming nights beforehand.


   • Other comments: And yes, I'll try and turn up on the servers more - I'm afraid the accent is in quite heavy demand.

   • Do you have any other ideas? - If there's a way to have it on there without ruining everything else, the Prophunt mod might be useful for the gaming nights.

There is indeed a way, it involves editing the source file and using a function to set the plugin into a fail state if the map is not arena or prophunt. Though I'll hold off trying that until SourceMod 1.3 is released, since that's the only version where PH 1.5 works.
