The NDH Clan is celebrating its second anniversary! Two years ago, May 12th, the NDH Clan was founded by Bizzie and IJzerenRita. This joyful event will come to expression in a number of ways, including a party on our gameserver on 15th of May and the annual Award Ceremony.
In the two years of this clan's existence, many things have changed, many things have come, and many things have gone.

In this special anniversary bulletin, IJzerenRita will provide a little trip down the memory lane, Bizzie will say wise things and finally we will announce this year's award winners.

Trip down the memory lane

The NDH Clan was founded two years ago. It was first called South of Heaven at the time, as you can see in the poster I made when I introduced the clan (this was before its official establishment). The temporary name was Overkill's idea.

Most of the original members, including me and Bizzie, Nevadura, Nykää, Nimrod, Overkill and some others I forgot to mention here, came from the Anti Cheaters clan.
After some pretty weird going-ons in that clan, the aforementioned members decided to form a new clan, which is known as the NDH Clan now. The founding of this clan is marked by the very first post.


At that time, we were playing GTA San Andreas Multiplayer (better known as SA:MP). First we continued running Protect the Prime Minister, a fun role-based gamemode made by Spark, modified by AC's UH99 and me.

The the player with the yellow tag is always the Prime Minister. He is to be protected at all times by Bodyguards, Police and Snipers against terrorist threads.

Then, Bizzie made his infamous racing gamemode, with its curious Flying Tram.

It was during this time when we came across new members such as Killzone and Rengers.
The clan's name was officially changed into Northern Dawn Heroes on February 19th, 2008. We decided to move out of SA:MP, as we were fed-up with playing it, and the SA:MP community was disintegrating. We played Multi Theft Auto for a brief period, but we finally decided to wait for the release of Battlefield Heroes, scheduled Summer of 2008 (as some you know, the game is still not released!).

Finally, we started playing Team Fortress 2. And we're still playing it.

Bizzie's wise things to say

Two years, it seems. Two years... woah, it feels like yesterday.
It's been a nice journey. Fun moments, bad moments, tough moments. Enjoyable. Frustrating. Very tiring. All those and a lot more.

Northern Dawn Heroes made a very successful move to Team Fortress 2 in June 2008. Although we had to wait for a month before we caught our first TF2 recruit, it was well worth it. Shortly afterwards, people actually started to come in! What's the best, our very own TF2 server was set up in September 2008.

We had to wait for approximately a month before the server became more popular though. The Payload-only configuration - which was suggested by Nimrod - seemed to attract players, we decided to keep it at that. The server got some regular players (I do recall StinkyCheese, Khorbus, Mordack, Grotius and BleauStone!) and everything was looking good. And it still is!

The idea of a mature, friendly gaming clan (and community) has worked well for us in Team Fortress 2. We've got good administrators on the servers, making sure that everybody is having good time. I suppose we're an unique clan when it comes to maturity of the clan members!

And we have two years behind us. It's nearly unbelieveable. No-one knows what the future holds. Nevertheless, I hope we're still here a year after I have said this.

The Gamer of the Year award is dedicated for a fellow, who likes games. He doesn't necessarily play a lot, but likes different types of games.

Spies, the blessing and the curse. Known for his amazing back-, stair- and sidestabs, Jukebox has proved himself to be the true Super Spy of the Year.

He doesn't talk a lot. When he does, his words should be listened, though. Despite constant persuading to visit the forum, he doesn't - but it's fine, as long as he knows he has gotten an award.
