Getting back to life
"We're not dead yet!"

In this issue we'll cover up:
  • The new layout, said layout breaking itself and finally getting it all fixed
A software update broke the old layout. A new layout was built. It broke down. Things happened and the new layout got fixed. Now we are waiting for something to break again!
  • Minecraft and TF2 servers
As most of you know, we bought a Minecraft server in March. Our Team Fortress 2 server is also back online.


By the way, this is our first newspost this year. It was about time for us to post a new one, wasn't it?

server_rackWe've relocated our servers to a more central location in Europe. This allows quite a few of us to have a lower ping to our Team Fortress 2 gameservers.


The new IPs are...

Popular Maps: 217.18.71.36:27015

Custom Maps: 217.18.70.73:27015

Kindergarten: 109.73.165.18:27015


Popular Maps & Custom Maps will be hosted in the Netherlands, whereas the brand-new Kindergarten server will be hosted in London, UK.

Alas, you cannot connect to the old servers due to the immediate move. Thus, we ask you to add our servers' new IP addresses to your favourites list.


Recently we also had a problem with the Linux version of Source Dedicated Server. The software did not 'announce' the NDH servers to Valve's master server, thus rendering us invisible on the server browser. The problem has been fixed with a rather simple workaround.


Last but not least, Northern Dawn Heroes' 3rd anniversary is closing up. Stay tuned - more information will be posted soon!

  • Last but not least - Merry Christmas everyone!

The first November 2009 Gaming Night was a success. It was the longest Gaming Night we've ever hosted, and it was fun as well. We managed to organize some group activities as well, which was a delightful surprise - at least to the article writer!
